Russia Claims Kremlin Subject To Ukrainian "Terrorist Attack"

Wires carrying comments from the Kremlin alleging that Ukrainian operatives carried out a drone attack on the Kremlin last night.

  • Kremlin: "Ukraine tried to hit kremlin with drone overnight" adding that the two drones used in the attacked were disabled by Russian defences.
  • Kremlin: “Putin not injured in attempted attack” and there was “no material damage to building from debris."
  • Kremlin: "We consider it a planned terrorist attack”, and “an attempt on Putin’s life.”
  • According to RIA, "Putin's work schedule continues as normal," and the Kremlin says it, "reserves the right to respond when and how it sees fit."
  • If the report proves accurate it may represent a substantial escalation of the war. The recently leaked Pentagon "Discord" documents revealed that the US has gone to lengths to dissuade Kyiv from conducting military operations within the territory of the Russian Federation.
  • Politico reports that the leaked documents have compelled Kyiv to withhold key details of Ukraine's spring counter-offensive the from the US, writing that the leak is, "one of the reasons Kyiv is holding back from sharing counteroffensive information, including its timing, where and how many troops they plan to move into position for the operation."
