Russia Deputy PM Novak Supports Limit for Gasoline Exporters

Russian deputy PM Alexander Novak supports the plan to limit the number of gasoline exporters from Russia, according to Reuters and TASS

  • This follows a government meeting on the subject July 24
  • Russia is considering limiting the number of companies permitted to export oil products to cut down on illegal “gray” exports of fuels meant for domestic use.
  • Russia has been struggling with domestic market tightness which has led to record wholesale prices. Russian refinery runs have recovered in recent months which are helping to support domestic gasoline demand needs.
  • Meanwhile, diesel exports are leaving Russian ports at a near record pace in July.
