Russia Does Not Plan Lifting Current Restrictions on Winter Diesel Exports

Russia is not planning to lift current restrictions on winter diesel exports but considers easing measured during the summer months, Russia’s Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said, cited by Tass.

  • “There is no talk of completely lifting the ban on the export of petroleum products; we do not plan to lift the ban on winter diesel fuel. For summer diesel fuel, the issue is being resolved,” Shulginov said.
  • The diesel ban, introduced in September, was lifted for seaborne exports delivered to the Russian ports by pipeline provided manufacturers supply at least 50% of its diesel production to the domestic market. Diesel supplies via railway remain banned.
