Russia Halts Oil Pipeline To Poland

Poland’s PKN Orlen has unexpectedly stopped receiving oil via the Druzhba pipeline from Russia, CEO Daniel Obajtek said.

  • Flows from Russia, which currently account for around 10% of Polish oil imports, halted on Saturday.
  • The pipeline’s southern branch was operating normally.
  • Poland has repeatedly said it plans to end Russian oil imports entirely, but needed European sanctions to be able to cancel the only remaining contract it currently holds with Tatneft.
