Russia Is Finalising Its G7 Oil Price Cap Response

The Russian government is currently finalising the response to the G7/EU price cap on Russian oil exports, sources told Vedomosti.

  • According to the draft decree, Russia will not sell crude oil to countries that have joined the price cap on Russian crude oil exports or, if the price cap is a condition in the contract or the reference price is equal to the price cap of $60/bbl.
  • The decree will be valid until 1 Jul 2023 and will apply for sales after 5 Dec.
  • The document is currently being finalised in the presidential administration.
