Russia Mulls Banning Diesel Re-Exporters

Russia is in discussions about changing its fuel export ban that was implemented September 21 according to a Bloomberg source.

  • The potential change would allow companies that produce diesel to export fuel.
  • Companies that do not produce diesel but purchase it for export would remain banned from doing so the source said.
  • The talks are ongoing, and no final decision has been made yet.
  • Russia currently plans to reduce diesel exports from its key western ports to almost nothing in October based on a loading schedule seen by Bloomberg.
  • Interfax earlier reported that Novak is set to meet with oil companies tomorrow to discuss the latest developments in the fuel market post export ban.
