Russian Crude Import Negotiations into Pakistan "At Advanced Level": Pakistan Ambassador

Pakistan plans to boost Russian oil purchases as a cheaper energy source according to Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali.

  • "Russia is one of sources where we can get cheap oil, and this is what our technical experts address. Our interim federal energy minister Mohammad Ali has even said that initially we would like to purchase 10% of oil totally consumed in Russia. Later this volume may be increased to 30%," he said.
  • "Negotiations at advanced level on the issue are underway," he added.
  • "I am very much satisfied with the fact that the first batch of 100,000 tons of oil was delivered to Pakistan this June," he added.
