- Japan's core machinery orders, excluding those for power generation equipment and ships, fell 3.2% m/m in May, dipping further from last 2.9% fall, posting the second monthly fall in three months.
- Orders from manufacturing sectors, increased 1.0% m/m, improving from the decrease of 11.3% m/m made in April.
- Orders from the non-manufacturing sector, fell 7.5% m/m, largely down from the previous 5.9% m/m growth.
- The outlook for the April-June period is for a decrease of 1.6%, compared with the 4.4% increase over the previous quarter.
