Russian Dec Oil Output Fell to 9.57mbpd

Russian daily crude oil production averaged 1.306mn tons, or 9.57mbpd, last month, people familiar with data from the Energy Ministry said, marking the highest reduction in output since early 2023.

  • December output numbers were 60kbpd lower month on month and around 375kbpd below the February baseline, the largest reduction since the country pledged to reduce output.
  • In addition to Moscow’s pledge to reduce output by 500kbpd, Russia will curb its daily exports of crude by 300,000 barrels, and refined products by 200,000 barrels during 1Q 2024.
