Russian Diesel Exports to Fall in Sep

Russian diesel exports from key western ports are expected to fall by a quarter this month amid seasonal refinery maintenance and government efforts to maintain domestic supplies according to Bloomberg.

  • Diesel loadings from Russian ports on the Black and Baltic Seas in September are set at 1.874m tons compared to 2.496m tons in August.
  • The diesel exports plan is the lowest since during the spring maintenance season May.
  • Russia’s daily primary crude processing in the week to 30 Aug fell by nearly 240kbpd from the previous week according to a Bloomberg source. Maintenance is set to peak between the second half of September and the first half of October.
  • Russia’s Energy Ministry has advised producers to redirect some diesel and gasoline to the domestic market to maintain supplies as the country struggles to curtail price growth.
