Russian Oil Products Exports Edged Down in July

Russian oil products exports declined by around 135kbpd in the first seven days in July, compared with the same period last month, Vortexa data compiled by Bloomberg showed, indicating that Russia’s pledged output cuts are starting to show.

  • June oil products exports stood at 2.4mbpd, when exports increased after refineries returned from spring maintenance.
  • Diesel or gasoil shipments, that account for roughly 40% of Russian fuel exports, have slipped to about 1mbpd in the first week of July, up by 12% higher compared with the same period in June.
  • Total June diesel or gasoil exports climbed in June to a three-month high of about 1.17 million barrels a day.
  • Gasoline exports have declined by around 44kbpd on the month in July. The Russian government is considering imposing fuel export quotas to rein in high gasoline prices and boost domestic supply.
  • No jet fuel exports were observed in the first week of the month.
