OIL PRODUCTS: Russia's 2025 Refinery Runs Seen Near Or Above Last Year's Levels

OIL PRODUCTS

Russian refinery runs seen close to last year’s level, or slightly above, Interfax reports, citing Deputy PM Alexander Novak.

  • Refinery runs could grow compared to 2024 given that early last year there were more incidents at Russian refineries than now, Novak said, according to Interfax.
  • In January, Novak said that Russia processed 266.5m tons of crude in 2024, equivalent to 5.35m b/d.
  • Bloomberg reported yesterday that Russian refineries processed about 5.1m b/d of crude in the first five days of February, down over 300k b/d compared to most of January, as Ukrainian drone attacks curbed throughput.
  • Plants in Volgograd, Astrakhan and Ryazan had all been affected by drone attacks in late-Jan/early-Feb, impacting February output.
