RWE Boosts Renewables Output in 1H 2024

RWE’s power generation from renewables increased to 26.22TWh in the first half of this year, up from 22.01TWh in the same period in 2023, the firm said.

  • Offshore wind generation increased to 5.85TWh in 1H 2024, from 5.25TWh in the first half of 2023 due to better wind conditions despite lower fleet availability.
  • Onshore wind and solar PV generation increased to 17.58TWh in the first six months of this year, up from 13.76TWh in the same period in 2023 due to the commissioning of new capacity and better wind conditions in Europe.
  • RWE’s onshore wind capacity rose to 8.831GW as of the end of June, up from 8.71GW at the end of March.
  • The utility’s solar PV capacity increased to 4.767GW as of the end of Q2, up from4.391GW as of the end of March.
  • Battery capacity was stable on the quarter 726MW at the end of H1.
  • Offshore wind capacity was also stable on the quarter at 3.286GW.
