SAGBs Sustain Bearish Momentum, 10Y Underperforms

SOUTH AFRICA
  • SAGBs kick the day off on the backfoot once again, following on from yesterday's broadly weaker session.
  • The curve shifted +1.6-3.8bp higher across the breadth with selling pressure concentrated in the 10Y (having broken 10.20 resistance) as US Treasury yields notched higher.
  • 30Y yields are now also approaching pivot resistance at 10.50 while the 10Y is hovering around the 61.8% retracement level of the 10-31 Aug range.
  • SA's 5Y CDS is also slowly ticking up as downside momentum slows.
