OIL: Saudi May Raise Arab Light OSP to Asia in February: Reuters Survey

OIL

Saudi’s OSP for Asian buyers in February is expected to rise for the first time in three months, according to a Reuters survey.

  • The February OSP for flagship Arab Light may increase by $0.2 – $0.5/bbl from January, six sources at Asian refineries said.
  • OSPs for Arab Extra Light, Arab Medium and Arab Heavy are also expected to rise at least $0.3/bbl.
  • The rise is in line with the change in the market structure after spot premiums for Feb loading recovered amid uncertainty over Iranian and Russian supplies and increased interest from Indian state refiners in Middle East crudes.
  • A Bloomberg survey earlier this week predicted a rise of $0.10/bbl for Arab Light OSP to Asia in February.
  • The OSP was cut by $0.80/bbl for January to a premium of $0.90/bbl to the Oman-Dubai benchmark.
  • OSPs are typically released within the first five days of the month.
