CABLE: Saw an extended low Friday of $1.2723 with recovery attempts in this
session well capped below $1.2800 before it settled around $1.2760 into the
close. Rate touched an opening Asia low of $1.2724 before it bounced to $1.2780
at the Tokyo open then consolidated around $1.2750 through the balance of the
session and into Europe. More interest was seen in EUR plays, and the contagion
effect from TRY, with EUR/GBP able to further extend its corrective pullback
from last week's highs of Gbp0.9031 to Gbp0.8904. Cross recovered to Gbp0.8935
as Tokyo bought EUR/JPY at their open before the cross settled around Gbp0.8920
through the rest of Asia and into Europe. Cable currently trades around $1.2758,
EUR/GBP around Gbp0.8928. Attention currently off sterling though Brexit
concerns remain. Key data due in the UK this week, Employment Report Tuesday
Aug14, CPI Wednesday Aug15 and Retail Sales on Thursday 16. Cable support
$1.2723 through to $1.2700. Resistance remains on approach to $1.2800.
