Scholz-EU Doesn't Want To Be Treated Worse By US Than Mexico Or Canada

Wires carrying comments from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding the US Inflation Reduction Act, and its sizeable subsidies provided to its domestic green tech sector. Scholz states that "All in the EU agree that we don't want to be treated worse by the US than Canada or Mexico."

  • Meloni "We need to work with countries of origin, with transit countries to effectively combat trafficking in human beings, to deal with the flows as much as possible before they arrive at European borders."
  • Meloni seeks to deflect questions on German-Italian relations under her gov't, staying "I don't remember ever saying I was allergic to Germany. On the other hand, it is the only language I have not managed to learn because it is too complicated grammatically".
