Roi Kais at Kan reporting that, "The Lebanese newspaper al-Nahar also joins the reports that a [Israel-Hezbollah] ceasefire [agreement in Lebanon] will be announced in the next 36 hours."
- Kais notes that the Lebanese report cites sources close to Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and a close political ally of Hezbollah who has acted as an intermediary in current talks.
- IDF radio network GLZ reports that Israeli Minister for Heritage, Amichai Eliyahu, said on the emerging agreement in Lebanon: "If they ask my opinion in the government, of course I will oppose. If tactically we are delaying until the Trump administration - the agreement may be right."
- GLZ also notes that Likud member of Knesset Amit Halevi said: "If the agreement is as published in the media - I will vote against it, its infrastructure harms Israel's security." We are doing one thing with this - establishing Hezbollah's status in Lebanon for generations."
- Barack Ravid at Axios pushes back on some reporting that a ceasefire agreement could be a short-term patch until US President-elect Donald Trump takes office: "Anyone who thinks that the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon is just a tactical Band-Aid until Trump enters the White House and lets us occupy Beirut - is not really living in reality. Trump will certainly support military actions by Israel to thwart specific threats from Lebanon, but in my estimation he will not support the renewal of the war."
