Barak Ravid at Axios reporting that US President Joe Biden's Middle East Envoy, Amos Hochstein "will soon fly to Beirut for talks on the cease-fire agreement, according to a senior American."
- Ravid's comments come after conflicting reportsthat Hochstein's trip had been delayed pending clarity on the Lebanese position regarding the cease-fire agreement.
- CNN reported several hours ago that Hochstein's trip was agreed after, "Lebanon responded “positively” to a US-backed proposal to stop the Israel-Hezbollah war, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Monday."
- According to CNN, Mikati told Al Araby TV news channel that the Lebanese government, "was seeking clarification on some “unclear points” in the proposal," but noted that "large parts of the draft agreement had been resolved, with some points that required “clarification” requiring a “face to face” discussions with Hochstein.
- CNN added that, according to a Lebanese official: "Hezbollah reviewed the proposal and submitted their response to Lebanese authorities on Sunday evening. The source described the response as largely “positive.”"
- Roi Kais at KAN reports on an IDF strike on central Beirut in the last few minutes appearing to target a senior Hezbollah official, suggesting that the prospect of a ceasefire may remain remote.
