Sefcovic: Committed To "Pragmatic Solutions" For NI Protocol

European Commission VP Maros Sefcovic tweets: "Constructive meetings with business and civic society in NI on challenges they face on the ground. Will help guide Joint Committee work.   • The 24 Feb joint committee is set to be the last attended by Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Michael Gove.
  • Last night Lord Frost, who led the UK negotiations in talks with EU's Michel Barnier over trade deal, was announced as a minister of state for the Cabinet Office, and will take over the UK chair of the Joint Committee and the EU-UK Partnership Council.
  • Frost is seen as more at ease with a looser relationship with the EU than Gove, who developed a strong working relationship with Sefcovic during time together on the NI Protocol JC.
