SEFE Looking to Expand Natgas Business Beyond Europe

SEFE is looking to boost its suppliers outside of Europe, according to Reuters citing its CEO Egbert Laege, following its gas deal with Norway.

  • A deal with Oman for LNG also opened opportunities to procure gas from the Middle East, in addition to supplies from the USA.
  • The company is also looking to engage in trading at European hubs, with some intention of placing volumes in overseas markets in a supplier role.
  • In the long term, SEFE intends to supply large Asian industrial companies and other buyers, aiming for 30-50% share of its LNG portfolio, Reuters said.
