Sempra Signs 15-Year LNG Supply Agreement With Engie

Sempra Infrastructure has signed a 15-year sale and purchase agreement with Engie for the supply of LNG from Phase 1 of its proposed Port Arthur LNG project in Texas.

  • Engie will purchase around 0.875mtpa of LNG for 15 years.
  • Sempra recently announced it had finalized the EPC contract with Bechtel Energy for the proposed Port Arthur LNG Phase 1.
  • Sempra also announced long-term agreements with ConocoPhillips and INEOS for the sale and purchase of approximately 5mtpa and 1.4mtpa of LNG, respectively.
  • The Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project is permitted and expected to include two natural gas liquefaction trains and LNG storage tanks with up to 13.5mtpa of LNG.
  • FID for the project is expected in 1Q23.
  • A similarly sized Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project is also competitively positioned and under active marketing and development.
