- "What is so stark here in McConnell's letter to Biden is that the GOP has no list of demands on the debt ceiling. They are not trying to haggle over spending or get a fiscal discipline mechanism installed here over the debt ceiling in exchange for GOP votes. Republicans have been consistent since summertime: Democrats should do the debt ceiling on their own. And they should do it via the special budget reconciliation process which is exempt from filibusters."
