Senate Constitution Committee To Vote On Fourth Pension Withdrawal Bill

  • The Chilean peso was buoyed on Monday by gathering momentum for conservative candidate Kast in the polls. USDCLP briefly breached support below 806.63 but was unable to close below the support level. Further weakness for the pair should target the 50-day EMA, as a support, residing at $795.53.
  • Chilean Senate's constitution committee will vote on the bill for a fourth withdrawal of pension funds. The vote had previously been scheduled for Wednesday, however, Senator Pedro Araya, president of the committee confirmed the vote would occur today before the bill the moves to the senate floor after that.
  • In Covid news: The health ministry announced it would move Santiago's Metropolitan Region back to level 3 in its 5 step reopening plan after a rise in cases. The new restrictions come into effect tomorrow and will lower the number of people allowed at public and private meetings, among other restrictions.
