US DATA: Sep durable goods new orders +0.8% vs -1.0% exp, led by +1.9% 
in transport. Commerce could not quantify the impact of the hurricanes. 
- Durable goods ex-trans orders +0.1%, below the +0.5% expected, due to 
increases in machinery and primary metals, offsetting decreases in 
electrical equipment and fabricated metal products. Still, this was the 
ninth increase in the last ten months for this category.                                   
- Within transport, nondefense aircraft orders -17.5% after +63.7% in    
Aug, but mtr vehicle orders +1.3%, while defense aircraft orders surprise 
+119.1%. The unlisted transportation components -17.8%, according to an  
MNI calc.                                                               
- Nondefense capital goods new orders -2.4%, and -0.1% ex. aircraft.     
- Durable shipments +1.3%. Nondef cap gds shipments +2.7%, but flat ex.
air. Durable inventories +0.7%, unfilled orders +0.8%.
