*Dollar-yen opened in Asia toward the upper side of the Y109.24 to Y110.25 range
witnessed yesterday, where rising US rate yields and firmer equities undermined
the yen.
*After rising from around Y110.10 to Y110.29 on euro-yen demand, a weaker
dollar, led by cable, pushed the rate down to Y110.06
*Recoveries were held to Y110.20, dollar-yen then eased lower from around
Y110.15 to Y109.98, the seller was reportedly one of the Japanese megabanks who
also sold dollars against a basket of currencies.
*For the balance of the session the rate recovered to Y110.12 and was last at
Y110.10.
*Demand has been reported down to Y109.80, with hourly support then seen at
Y109.67, while Asia's top of Y110.29 provides initial resistance
*German CPI provides the initial event risk for the session ahead (cross flow),
which also includes UK job data
