Shamkhani: Outlook For JCPoA Unclear On US Delays

Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani tweets: "The outlook for the JCPoA agreement remains unclear due to Washington's delay in making a political decision. The priority of the Iranian negotiators is to resolve the remaining issues that are considered in the red line. Rapid access to a strong agreement requires the introduction of new initiatives by all parties."

  • Earlier Iran's Tasnim reported comments from an unnamed Iranian official stating that Russian demands at the ongoing Vienna talks regarding the Iran nuclear deal are "not constructive", and that the Russian delegation's "interference" was about Moscow trying to secure its own interests not related to the deal.
  • Russia is seeking assurances that sanctions imposed by the US and the rest of the West due to the invasion of Ukraine will not affect Russia's future interactions with Iran.
