Shandong Refiners Moving Away from Russian Fuel Oil

OIL PRODUCTS

Due to fuel oil tightness, Shandong teapot refiners are feeling the pain as the price of Russian HSFO increases according to Voertxa.

  • Refiners are turning to other barrels as feedstock, especially Iranian crude. Russian barrels are becoming less appealing as discounts erode.
  • Kpler earlier today reported Iranian crude exports at 1.43mn bpd in August, 400 kbd high m/m.
  • It added that China had received 90% of its oil exports year to date.
  • See chart for falling HSFO/RFO imports into Shandong.
