Sharp US Gasoline Demand Fall After July 4: OPIS/GasBuddy

OPIS Gasoline Volume survey suggests that brisk gasoline demand number for week leading up to holiday week (9.599 million b/d) was followed by sharply lower demand. “Potentially could see an EIA number Wednesday that again flirts with 9 million b/d” according to OPIS Analyst Tom Kloza.

  • According to GasBuddy, weekly figures ended July 8 showed US gasoline demand fell 8.4% from the week prior and was 5.1% below the four-week average. GasBuddy models gasoline demand at 8.66mbpd.
