UK
UK: ### Shortly after UK markets closed Thursday the UK government released a
schedule of meetings with the EU on issues related to Northern Ireland/Ireland.
The list shows meetings started on Mar 14 and go into the third week of April.
- POV: Does this mean that the N.Ireland/Ireland issue is now separate from the
transitional talks/agreement, (slim due to the EU stance) or could it mean there
is no chance of a transitional deal being signed next week and delayed to
Octobers EU summit? What it does show is that talks have not progress on this
issue at all. List of meeting dates below:
- Mar 14: Opening session at coordinators' level - objectives of the exercise
and agreement of follow-up work
- Mar 26: Customs/goods regulation/SPS
- Mar 27: Transit/practical arrangements
- Apr 06: Rights of individuals
- Apr 09: Review meeting at coordinators' level
- Apr 11: North-South cooperation
- Apr 18: Review Meeting at coordinators' level
