Sources Reporting Suspected Stray Russian Missile Strike In Poland

NATO

Multiple sources have reported that a suspected Russian missile has struck the Polish town of Przewodów, close to the border with Ukraine, killing two people.

  • Amichai Stein of Israeli public broadcaster Kan: "Mini drama in the war in Ukraine 2 people were killed in the city of Przebodow in the Lublin district in Poland from a missile attack launched by Russia towards Ukraine."
  • If the reports are accurate it would constitute a significant escalation of the war in Ukraine and would fall to NATO member Poland to activate NATO's Article 5 collective defence protocol.
  • Poland has reportedly convened a national security committee meeting in response but all reports should be approached with caution until the strike has been independently verified.
  • Przewodów is approximately 550kms west of Kyiv, which was stuck by a missile bombardment earlier today.
