  • Statistics SA will publish Q3 unemployment data at 09:30GMT/11:30SAST and the consensus forecast is 32.8%. Later in the day, manufacturing production data will cross the wires at 11:00GMT/13:00SAST, with analysts expecting a 0.7% Y/Y increase in the not seasonally adjusted figure.
  • The Constitutional Court said it was unable to conduct in-person hearings because of unstable water supply in Johannesburg. Against this backdrop, Johannesburg Water spokesperson Nombuso Tshabalala said that they would be reducing water supply to high-consumption areas.
  • Energy and Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa stepped into the billing dispute between Eskom and Johannesburg's City Power after the utility threatened to disrupt electricity supply to the metro area. Ramokgopa said mediation by a third party was needed to break the deadlock in their negotiations.
  • The National Treasury will sell ZAR1.25 of 10% 2033 Bonds, ZAR1.25bn of 8.875% 2035 bonds and ZAR1.25bn of 10.875% 2038 bonds.
