MNI BRIEF: CBRT Lowers 1W Repo Rate From 50% To 47.5%

Central Bank of the Republic Of Turkey decides on interest rates.

MNI (LONDON) - The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey lowered its reference rate of interest - the one-week repo rate - by 250 basis points to 47.5% on Thursday. 

Rates had been held at 50% since March, however the underlying trend in inflation was "essentially flat" in November, the CBRT said in a statement, with leading indicators pointing to a further decline in December.
