South Korean Jet Fuel Flows to Europe Near Two Year High: Kpler

South Korean jet fuel exports to the US are leaving at a near two year high while Asia’s aviation industry recovers.

  • South Korea jet fuel exports in June bound for US ports may rise to 500,000 metric tons, according to Kpler, up 42% from May and the highest since August 2021.
  • The slower return of air travel in Asia is pushing excess jet fuel supplies from the region toward the US where demand is expected to rise this summer according to Kpler analysis.
  • Falling shipping costs have also supported the trade between South Korea and the West Coast.
