Spain has submitted its fifth payment request under the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility, seeking up to €22.1bn in funding aimed at increasing renewable capacity, enhanced energy efficiency, and decarbonisation measures for buildings and agriculture, the EU said.

  • The request comprises of €6.7bn in grants and €15.4bn in loans.
  • However, these amounts could increase to €8bn in grants and €15.9bn in loans if the Council adopts the revised Spanish plan.
