Spanish LNG Sendout Rises as German Demand Increases

NATURAL GAS

Spanish LNG sendout Sep. 27 rose to its highest level since Aug. 24, boosted by rising import demand from Germany, according to Argus.

  • Spanish sendout of 814GWh yesterday was the highest since late August, as pipeline exports to France rose to 106GWh, their highest since July 3.
  • This comes as German pipeline receipts from Norway fell yesterday as maintenance at the Dornum interconnection point restricted imports to 92GWh, down from 484 GWh/d earlier in the month.
  • Warm weather could continue to delay the onset of heating demand in Spain, allowing greater scope for pipeline exports.
  • France is currently less equipped to meet increased demand from neighbouring countries with regasified LNG as the 6.6m mtpa Fos Cavaou LNG import facility is undergoing maintenance until Oct. 3.
