EURO-YEN: Spec accounts were the stand out sellers overnight, slippage through
the 100-dma (Y131.33) extended to Y131.23. Dip buyers emerged off the low,
recoveries extended through the Y131.55/60 area before topping out at Y131.82.
Expect resistance ahead of Y132.00 (Y131.93 - Hourly high), a break here opens
Y132.27/47 (Nov21 high, Nov20 high). Last Y131.54.
* On the calendar today ECB Executive Board member Peter Praet will participate
at the Annual Economics Conference organised by the EIB and SUERF, in
Luxembourg, at 0820GMT.
* Bundesbank Board member Carl-Ludwig Thiele gives a speech at the 21th academic
colloquium of the institute for Banking and Financial History, in Frankfurt at
1015GMT. Andreas Dombret is next up at 1415GMT.
* At 1630GMT SNB Board member Thomas Jordan speaks at the university Basel WWZ,
in Basel.
* Finally at 1815GMT is a speech from ECB Executive Board member Benoit Coeure
who will deliver introductory remarks at a conference organised by Conservatoire
national des arts et metiers (CNAM), in Paris.
