State Duma To Consider Formal Recognition Of ORDLO In February

RUSSIA

The Council of the Russian State Duma will consider a draft appeal to President Putin on the recogniton of self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (collectively known as ORDLO) in February, according to Ria Novosti. The news agency cited Nikolai Kolomeitsev, the first deputy leader of the Communist parliamentary caucus, as a source.

  • The Council of the State Duma is the main agenda-setting body of the lower house. It consists of the Chairman, Deputy Chairmen and parliamentary group leaders.
  • The draft resolution was tabled last week by the Communist Party caucus, with Duma Chairman (Speaker) Volodin noting that he will hold consultations with heads of parliamentay groups this week.
