Steeper But Tighter To U.S. Tsys

AUSSIE BONDS

The U.S. fiscal dynamic and ensuing pressure on Tsys has weighed on the Aussie bond space since Tuesday's settlement. Aussie 10s have managed to outperform U.S. 10s on that particular move, with the AU/U.S. 10-Year yield spread tightening back under the 5bp mark. Some desks have pointed to 2-way flow around the 10-Year point via various RV plays. YM -0.5, XM -6.0, with the cash curve bear steepening.

  • Domestically, Q3 GDP and A$2.0bn worth of ACGB 1.00% 21 November 2031 supply is due. Elsewhere, RBA Governor Lowe will appear before the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics. We shall see what that round of Q&A brings.
