EQUITIES: Stocks open strongly, with the S&P 500 opening above the 3,000 mark
for the first time since early March and the Dow Jones opening north of 25,000.
Futures have pulled slightly off the best levels of the day, but cash is still
registering gains of well over 2% at pixel time, with the S&P500 now back above
the 200-dma.
- On a sectoral basis, financials are outperforming with industrials and energy
not far behind. Healthcare remains higher but is the poorest performer so far.
- Individual stock movers are consistent with the 'smooth re-opening' theme,
with airlines and cruise liners the top performing names, while Netflix, Clorox,
Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts are in retreat.
- Next upside target in the S&P500 sits at 3109.93, the 76.4% retracement of the
February - March sell-off.
