Sunak Could Delay Budget Until New Year Amid Second Wave Fears (Telegraph)

UK

Rishi Sunak is contemplating delaying the Budget until the New Year because of uncertainty around a possible second wave of coronavirus. The Chancellor has so far refused to set a date for what had been widely expected to be a November statement, and Treasury sources said he wanted the "flexibility" to hold it later if circumstances change. Sources have told The Telegraph that, if Mr Sunak decides against a November Budget, he would be "unlikely" to hold it in December because of the limited time available to get Parliament to pass it into law in the run-up to Christmas.
