Support For Putin's United Russia Party Climbs Higher: Levada Poll

RUSSIA

Latest opinion polling from the Levada Center shows President Vladimir Putin's United Russia Party continuing to climb in popularity amidst a major crackdown on anti-gov't voices in the media and wider political landscape.

  • The Levada Center is seen as one of the few opinion pollsters in Russia providing reliable data on public support for politicians and parties. In 2016, it was labeled as a 'foreign agent' by the Russian gov't, preventing it work around that year's parliamentary elections.
  • Levada Centre Poll: United Russia: 54% (+12), Communist Party: 15% (-3), Liberal Democratic Party of Russia: 13% (+2), A Just Russia-For Truth: 6% (-1), New People: 5%. +/- vs. 17 - 21 February 2022. Fieldwork: 24 - 30 March 2022. Sample size: 1,632
  • Speculation in the West that Putin could be removed by a popular revolt, uprising or other form of ouster emanating from declining living conditions as a result of Western sanctions appears to have little credence, with Putin's personal and party approval ratings rising sharply following his decision to invade Ukraine.
