Swedish PM: We Look Forward To Being NATO Member

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has written on social media that he is, "Glad to hear that Turkish President Erdoğan has now handed over the ratification documents to the Turkish Parliament. Now it remains for Parliament to deal with the issue. We look forward to becoming a member of NATO."

• Kristersson's comments come shortly after the office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Erdogan has submitted a bill for Sweden's NATO membership bid to parliament for ratification.
• Bloomberg reports: "The bill will be discussed at a parliamentary committee before a general vote in the assembly, where Erdogan’s ruling AK party and its allies hold a majority of the seats. It’s unclear when a final ratification vote would be held."
• Ratification is not assured due to a high level of negative sentiment in Turkey following a series of Quran burnings in Sweden.
