Swiss Hydro Stocks Widen Surplus to Average

Swiss hydropower stocks slowed weekly declines to 1.8 percentage points last week, from 4 points the week prior to 72.8% of capacity as of 18 December, widening the surplus to the five-year and long-term averages, BFE data showed.

  • Stocks widened the surplus to the five-year average to 6.7 points, up from 4 points the week prior.
  • The surplus to the long-term average widened by 2 points on the week to 10.6 points.
  • Hydropower output declined last week. Output from reservoirs fell by 531MW on the week to 1.14GW, Entso-E data showed.
