Swiss Hydropower Stocks Slow Decline

Swiss hydropower reserves declined by 3.4 percentage points last week to 50.6% of capacity as of 5 February, BFE data showed.

  • Stocks declined by 3.8 points the week prior.
  • The surplus to the long-term average – since 1997 – widened to 10.4 points, up by 0.4 points on the week. The surplus to the five-year average was steady on the week at 6.6 points.
  • Hydropower output rose last week. Output from pumped storage increased by 243.5MW on the week to 960.3MW, Entso-E data showed. Nuclear output edged lower on the week by 55.6MW to 2.98GW.
