Taliban Take Prov. Cap. 50km SE Of Kabul As US, UK Evacuate Nationals

Wires and social media reporting that the Taliban have taken yet another provincial capital as part of their massive offensive against Afghan gov't forces. The city of Ghor sits 50km (30 miles) south east of the Afghan capital, Kabul.

  • The news comes as the United States and the United Kingdom send military forces to assist with the evacuation of US/UK citizens, soldiers, and Afghan nationals who have worked with coalition forces. The US is sending around 3,000 troops, the UK 600.
