Bloomberg reporting that the Iranian gov't has stated that talks on the Iran nuclear deal are 'a few steps ahead' after the visit of head EU negotiator Enrique Mora to Tehran last week.
- Positive comments from Iran come a short while after supportive comments from Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Russia's state-run Interfax reported Ryabkov as saying that the issues in reinstating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal) are political rather than technical.
- Ryabkov: "The document is practically ready for approval. The outstanding problems are political, they have nothing to do with the finalisation of the text...All that needs to be done for fine-tuning this document can actually be done within several days."
