FOREX: The Aussie was the main outperformer against the dollar in Asia, buffeted
by surging ore and steel prices, the Aussie raced higher from $0.7997 to $0.8043
before fading modestly ahead of the RBA policy decision and accompanying
statement. Dollar-yen continued its descent lower from Y110.42 to Y110.01. For
now, the much talked about Y110.00 barriers remain intact, the chatter from
traders is a break below Y110 will see the market short gamma, meaning they will
have to sell more, which should get momentum going to the downside. Dollar-yen
was last at Y110.13. Meanwhile, Euro-dollar is currently trading at $1.1825 and
Cable at $1.3217, after trading in respective ranges of $1.1820 to $1.1844 and
$1.3191 to $1.3221.
