GILT SUMMARY: The BBC reported earlier today that the UK government will hold
the meaningful vote on the Brexit
deal on January 15. 
- Gilts have rallied since the open with the 7- and 10-year benchmarks
outperforming the curve. The 10-year trades at a yield of 1.234% down from
1.278%, while the 2s10s spread has narrowed to 49.7bps from 52.1bps.
- The Mar 19 gilt future trades at 123.56, 10 ticks of the high and near the top
of the morning's range.
- Breakevens have pushed higher with the 5-year benchmark trading at 3.149% up
from a low of 3.133%.
- Following the late afternoon rally on Friday, equities are on the back foot
again this morning. Sterling is enjoying modest respite with cable trading up to
1.2755 from 1.2701. 
- The short sterling futures strip is 1.0-3.5 ticks higher.
- Next up on the data calendar is the Halifax House Price series for December,
which will be published tomorrow.
