CHINA DATA
CHINA DATA: The Caixin China services PMI plunged to an all-time low of 26.5 in
February, down 25.3 points from January. This was the first time the figure has
slid into the contractionary zone below the breakeven 50 since the survey began
in 2015. The new order sub-index plunged to a record low, falling below 50 for
the first time since December 2018, due to order cancellations and travel
restrictions, said Caixin. Business sentiment for the services sector weakened
significantly to its lowest on record, according to Caixin. The plunge reported
by Caixin was in line with the official PMI for the services sector, released
Saturday, which fell 23 points to 30.1.
